Pre-Course Eyesight Testing

Before anyone is permitted to begin an OPAL defensive driving course with TATI, they are required to pass the OPAL eyesight test to ensure their eyesight meets the required standard for safe driving, either with or without spectacles.

Unfortunately, some people joining our courses fail the test, resulting in them not being able to receive the training.

Candidates must either undergo vision screening or provide an eye-test report completed by an eye specialist or one obtained from an ROP-approved optical centre/shop within the previous three months.

NEBOSH

We at TATI are conscious of the inconvenience this can cause to companies and individuals and how it can disrupt OPAL activities, so we have decided to offer an additional service to alleviate the problem.

We are available at our training premises to test the eyesight of people who have been nominated for a Defensive Driving course with us up to three weeks ahead. The service will be available between 0900–1500 each working day. This is a walk-in service, so no appointment is necessary. However, it must not be longer than three months before your training is due to take place and you must have received confirmation of your course.

THIS SERVICE IS FREE OF CHARGE.

In the event of a person failing the eyesight test, TATI will refer the person to an optician to prescribe any corrective action deemed necessary to improve the eyesight to a level to pass the OPAL test.

PLEASE READ YOUR CONFIRMATION LETTER TO ENSURE YOU ARE AWARE OF OTHER REASONS WHY YOU MAY NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPLETE YOUR BOOKED COURSE.
